I’m Leah Fitzpatrick, and you might be wondering why I’ve branded my real estate services as House + Soul. The simple answer: I believe that a house only begins to shine once its soul takes shape. This process doesn’t happen overnight though, as any living space first has to be paired with a loving owner—someone who will inject the right blend of personality, appreciation and care into his or her surroundings. Once that person finds the right house to call home, the character, or soul, slowly begins to seep in, from each of the celebrations spent huddled in the kitchen (even though the dining room’s usually bigger) to all the hours spent hanging and then re-hanging artwork to perfectly line up and pretty the walls.

Background
We’re getting harder to find in the fast-growing Greater Nashville area, but a native Tennessean I am. A good deal of my years has been spent right here in Middle Tennessee, but I have also lived in the land of Elvis and had a six-month stint interning in the London art world at Sotheby’s to boot. I definitely like a mix of rural and urban living and never grow tired of one or the other…I just have to be near both, which is the beauty of what this area has to offer!
Professionally, I have worked in advertising and in journalism across print and digital media platforms, most recently serving as the editor for Memphis’ philanthropic-based RSVP magazine. The hills of Middle Tennessee were always beckoning me to move back closer to my roots, so I took a leap of faith and returned to Franklin in 2013 to pursue my interest in interior design and staging with vetted Nashville antique store and design firm, Marymont Plantation Shop. Going hand in hand with this venture was my deep-rooted love for anything to do with architecture and houses, especially historical ones—everything from California’s famed Hearst Castle to Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater. As a natural extension of helping friends and family (okay, and myself) search for and tour houses, a career in real estate was born, and currently I’m proudly giving back to my industry by serving as the Vice Chair of the Young Professionals Network of the Williamson County Association of Realtors.
